Social Distortion & Tiger Army

Tonight I got to see two bands for the first time. I grew up full of angst and listened to Social Distortion a ton. It was great to see them play. Mike Ness has to be about the only man on the planet that can wear eyeliner and still look entirely hardcore. He really is the charisma of the band. It is interesting to see how he has grown up over the years, just like the crowd. Mike Ness is now married with two kids. It was a lot older crowd then your typical hard core show. This stands to reason though when a band can still fill the Tabernacle after 25 years. They played a good mix of old "classics" and new songs off the new album. The new songs definitely reflect a kinder gentler Mike Ness and a man devoted to his family.

Tiger Army had great energy and I wish I had seen more but unfortunately I only caught the last half of the set. Tiger Army consists of a singer/guitarist, drummer and a stand up bass player.
